Bradley Cooper to be honored at PSIFF
Cooper likely to attend January festival
The 24th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF) will present Bradley Cooper with the Desert Palm Achievement Award for acting at its Awards Gala.
"Bradley Cooper is just one of the many silver linings in David O. Russell's enjoyable film Silver Linings Playbook," said Festival Chairman Harold Matzner. "Cooper's portrayal of Pat Solution is a career best performance that has created Oscar buzz and has audiences rooting for him despite the challenges he faces throughout the film. It is our honor to present the 2013 Desert Palm Achievement Award for Acting to Bradley Cooper."
Cooper received Best Actor from the National Board of Review and is nominated for a Best Male Lead Independent Spirit Award. Past honorees of the Desert Palm Achievement Award include Jeff Bridges, Daniel Day-Lewis, Colin Firth, Brad Pitt, Sean Penn and John Travolta.
The Awards Gala will be held Saturday, January 5 at the Palm Springs Convention Center. Hosted by Mary Hart, the Gala will also present awards to previously announced honorees the cast of Argo, Sally Field, Helen Hunt, Naomi Watts and Robert Zemeckis. The Festival runs January 3-14.
