Assault and robbery suspect arrested in Cathedral City
Clarence Davis, Jr. arrested Wednesday on several charges
Police arrested Clarence Davis, Jr. Wednesday on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, kidnapping, armed robbery and domestic violence.
Yesterday, February 19th, Palm Desert Police responded to a domestic disturbance call near Pierson Boulevard, just outside of Desert Hot Springs, where a pregnant woman reported that her ex-husband, Davis, had driven her to a remote area of the desert where he pointed a gun at her. He reportedly threatened to harm her and her children if she did not give him money. She said Davis then drove her to various locations in Desert Hot Springs where he received the money that she reported stolen, an undisclosed amount.
After Davis was identified, a search warrant was obtained for his home in Cathedral City. The Palm Springs/Cathedral City SWAT team performed the search today, February 20th. They discovered two firearms which were taken in as evidence.
Davis has been booked into the Riverside County Jail in Indio. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact Investigator Hughes at (760) 836-1600 or (760) 836-3215 or Crimestoppers at (760) 341-STOP.
