Spraying to prevent West Nile spread scheduled

Mecca targeted for light spraying, says vector control

MECCA, Calif. - The Coachella Valley Mosquito Vector Control District has scheduled spraying to help prevent the spread of West Nile Virus.

What the district called "ultra-low volume ground applications" will be dispersed  using truck-mounted sprayers, according to a statement released Monday.

Treatments will begin on Tuesday, June 26, between 7:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.

They will repeat for the next five nights, weather permitting.
