Slaughterhouse officials indicted for selling tainted meat

Rancho Feeding Corp. at the center of massive beef recall

Northern California - A Federal Grand Jury indicted four officials from a Northern California slaughterhouse saying they slaughtered diseased cows intentionally while inspectors were on their lunch breaks, then sold that tainted meat.  The officials from Rancho Feeding Corporation were at the center of a massive beef recall earlier this year.  The U.S. Department of Agriculture has said Rancho processed diseased and unhealthy animals and went around federal inspection rules.
