PALM SPRINGS, Calif. - The Palm Springs City Council approved the moving of the Greater Palm Springs Pride Celebration this November from Sunrise Stadium Park to downtown Palm Springs.
City officials said the Pride Festival will now be centered between Amado Road and Baristo Road incorporating neighboring side streets.
The Pride Festival takes place from Nov. 7 to Nov. 9.
In addition, the celebration will no longer charge admission, making it only the second large-scale pride event in California to do so.
Event planners are hoping to draw more attendees from other parts of the Coachella Valley and bump up attendance from last year's number of 88,000 by having a new larger space, free admission and fun activities planned.
