Palm Springs Airport offers extra parking and shuttle service for Christmas rush

Travelers asked to arrive at least 90 minutes prior to departure

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. - Starting today, Palm Springs International Airport  is offering extra parking and terminal shuttle service to help handle the  Christmas travel rush.
The airport's Economy Lot on Kirk Douglas Way will open at 4:30 a.m.,  and parking is $10 a day for overnight travelers. Free shuttle transportation  is available from the lot to the main terminal from 4:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily  through Christmas day, city spokeswoman Amy Blaisdell said.
Blaisdell said the airport is opening the lot to accommodate an increase  in visitors to Palm Springs during Christmas.
She said travelers should arrive at least 90 minutes before their  flights to allow enough time to park, check in and go through security.
The airport is at 3400 E. Tahquitz Canyon Way. For information, go to  www.palmspringsca.gov.
