PALM SPRINGS, Calif. - The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway will close for annual maintenance next week, officials said Tuesday. The tram will close Sept. 8 and is tentatively scheduled to reopen Sept. 20, spokesman Greg Purdy said.
Workers will exchange a tram car's carriage, test loads and emergency
systems, and clean, refurbish and paint the tram's two stations, he said.
``These projects are always scheduled during our shutdown period to
prevent any disruption to our guests' overall tram experience." said tram
general manager Rob Parkins.
