INDIO, Calif. - Authorities were investigating a stabbing attack near Indio's Martin Van Buren Elementary School that left one man dead Monday.
The Riverside County Sheriffs Department say deputies responded to the 84000 block of Lingayan Street in an unincorporated county area near Indio Monday evening at 7:19 p.m.
The area of the crime is just east of Calhoun Street and north of Avenue 48 near Martin Van Buren Elementary School.
Deputies found a man who'd been stabbed several times lying in a driveway in front of a residence.
An ambulance crew rushed the 57-year-old Indio resident to Desert Regional Medical Center where he died an hour and a half later.
The victim's identity has not yet been released as authorities notify his next of kin.
Central homicide detectives are investigating the stabbing attack, but have announced no arrests.
