INDIO, Calif. - A man who stabbed someone for intervening after he stole items from a Home Depot in La Quinta has been arrested, according to investigators with the Thermal Station.
Police said Indio resident Kenneth Wayne Salter, 48, committed the crime on October, 21, just before 11 a.m. He was finally arrested on December, 12, in Indio after investigators from the Thermal Station searched the 81000 block of Hoover Avenue.
Police said Salter was taken into custody and booked into the Indio Jail for attempt homicide.
Back in October, Salter stole items from the Home Depot on Hwy. 111 and was confronted by a loss prevention officer outside of the store. Salter stabbed the victim several times before making a run for it, according to police.
The victim was treated at the hospital.
