Locations for 'Safe and Sane' fireworks announced in Cathedral City

CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. - The Cathedral City Fire Department is working with nonprofit groups once again this year to make Independence Day a fun and safe experience for Coachella Valley families.

Officials said the department will facilitate another year of 'Safe and Sane' fireworks sales, including enforcement of storage and discharge regulations for the Fourth of July.

All fireworks stands will be operated by Cathedral City-based nonprofit groups that meet specific criteria as defined in the city's municipal ordinance.

The firework stands will begin operating on June 28.

Safe and Sane fireworks will be available at the following locations:

  • Cathedral City Youth League will be in front of Pep Boys at 31605 Date Palm Drive
  • St. Louis Catholic Church will be next to Pizza Hut at 34251 Date Palm Drive
  • Knights of Columbus will be at the southwest corner of Cathedral Canyon and Ramon Road
  • Calvary Bible Church will be near State Bros at 67800 Vista Chino
