Gang members arrested for Halloween shooting

Victim paralyzed from waist down

DESERT HOT SPRINGS, Calif. - Police have arrested three gang members in connection to a shooting that happened at a house party on Halloween night in Desert Hot Springs.

According to police, 20-year-old Bryan Gonzalez of Desert Hot Springs was the last person taken into custody for the crime. He was arrested on Wednesday.

Jeremy Castro, 27, of Cathedral City, was arrested just two days after the shooting.  Police caught up with the other suspect in late December; he was a resident of Desert Hot Springs and was only 16-years-old.

The victim was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center  and was paralyzed from the waist down after the shooting, police said.

The party was near the intersection of Desert View Road and Via Real.

Desert Hot Springs police joined with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Parolee Apprehension Team to track down the suspects.

Authorities said the shooting was gang-related and all three suspects are documented gang members. There are no additional suspects wanted in connection to the case.
