Free dog vaccines offered to first 200 in DHS

Clinic starts at 9AM at DHS Senior Center, 11777 West Dr.

DESERT HOT SPRINGS, Calif. - The Riverside County Department of Animal Services will offer free dog vaccinations in Desert Hot Springs on Saturday.

The vaccination clinic will start at 9 a.m. at the Desert Hot Springs
Senior Center, 11777 West Drive. There are 200 slots, and the cutoff time is 1 p.m., according to animal services spokesman John Welsh.

Welsh said they expect residents of DHS to flock to the event, so if you're coming from another city, you probably won't make it in time for the first 200 dogs.

No appointments can be made, it's a first-come first-serve basis.

If you want to get your dog vaccinated for free, Welsh recommends you get to the event early because a long line is expected.

Dogs must be on a leash or in a pet carrier.

Microchips will be available for $10 each, which is pretty much the cheapest you can find them for, Welsh said.
