Cathedral City man arrested in overnight shooting

Nobody was injured when a home was struck by bullets

CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. - A Cathedral City man was in custody Tuesday morning accused in an overnight shooting.

Police officers arrested Roy Anthony Hernandez, 19, of Cathedral City after they say he opened fire on a home at  10:39 p.m. in the area of La Paz Road and Peladora.

A police statement said eyewitnesses provided a potential named suspect and vehicle description.

Officers spotted the suspect's vehicle a short time later and started a pursuit. That chase was ended because of safety concerns.

The vehicle was later found abandoned in Palm Springs near Morongo Road and East Palm Canyon.

Police arrested Hernandez there.

Two other suspects escaped. No injuries were reported.
