Fifty-two students received their teaching credentials in a ceremony at the Cal State University San Bernardino campus in Palm Desert.
"I'm very excited, very excited to be recognized for receiving a credential," said Sophia Ohlemann, a newly anointed teacher.
"Pretty exciting to be here tonight. I'm happy for my colleagues and classmates getting their credentials, they're going to go out and teach and do what we've been dreaming of doing," said Murray Moxon, who is training to become a teacher. He says he's a bit worried about Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's recent budget cuts.
"We're really holding our breath because we're new, we want to get hired and you don't want to hear about budget cuts," says Moxon
Even though Governor Schwarzenegger released a revised budget easing education cuts by about 40 percent, some say, the news still wasn't great.
"Right now the teachers that are teaching are crossing their fingers hopefully they get to come back next year," said Mario Pinental, who received his credentials.
The revised budget still calls for $3 billion in education cuts, something Moxon says they will just have to deal with.
"We're just going to keep working on our training and trying to get better and better for the students in this area...the children our are future and they only way our children can realize their goals is through education," Moxon said.
