Kidman played Ernest Hemingway's third wife Martha Gellhorn in the HBO movie "Hemingway & Gellhorn" in May 2012, with Clive Owen portraying Hemingway. Gellhorn, a World War II correspondent who married to the famous writer between 1940 and 1945, was Hemingway's inspiration for "For Whom the Bell Tolls."
