John Malkovich is the latest in a long list of celebrities who have acted heroically off the screen. Here are some of the other celebrity turned real-life heroes.

Heidi Klum, along with bodyguard/boyfriend Martin Kirsten, reportedly raced to save her son Henry and two nannies when they were pulled into a rip current during a Hawaii beach vacation in March 2013. "Thankfully Henry is a strong swimmer and was able to swim back to land and we were able to get everyone out safely," Klum told CNN in a statement.
