Volunteers needed for Palm Springs 75th anniversary event
Free celebration featuring fireworks expected to attract ten thousand people
Volunteers for Palm Springs' 75th anniversary celebration are needed, organizers of the event said.
The free celebration, which includes fireworks, is set for April 20 at the O'Donnell Golf Course and is themed "Thanks for the Memories! Palm Springs Through the Decades."
Up to 10,000 people are expected.
"This is going to be a historic event to remember and we need all the help we can get," event producer Larry Abel said.
The event will include an exhibit on the city's history and culture from 1938 to the present. Food and entertainment, including carnival games and photo booths, will be provided by local restaurateurs and entertainers.
Anyone interested in volunteering should email VolunteerPalmSprings75gmail.com with their contact information. More information about the 75th anniversary celebration is posted at www.palmsprings75.com.
