The pilot of a single-engine plane was injured and a horse corral was damaged today when the aircraft went down about four miles west of Perris.
The crash happened about 1 p.m. in the 24000 block of Rose Quartz Drive, a rural area between Perris and Lake Mathews, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
A man at the controls of an experimental plane apparently was forced to land near a residence, where he plowed through a corral and fence, a fire department official said.
No one on the ground was hurt, but the pilot suffered unspecified minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
The aircraft sustained significant damage, according to the fire department.
The cause of the crash was under investigation.
