SAN JACINTO, Calif. -

A 38-year-old San Jacinto man suspected of sexual  battery on a child was behind bars today.

Richard Armando Ayala was arrested Monday night after Riverside County  sheriff's deputies were alerted to alleged inappropriate behavior involving the  suspect and a youth.

Sheriff's officials did not disclose the nature of the contact, which  allegedly occurred around 6 p.m. in the 100 block of Main Street.

Ayala was booked into the Smith Correctional Facility in Banning, where  he was being held in lieu of $3,500 bail.
