L.A. Dodgers announce ticket sales and promotions for 2013 season

Los Angeles Dodgers single-game tickets will go on  sale at 10 a.m. Saturday on the team's website, dodgers.com, and at Dodger  Stadium, with changes to the pricing system and availability.
      Dodger single-game tickets will no longer be cheaper if purchased before  the day of the game, and the team has gone from two sets of ticket prices to  four.
      Tickets will be available for all 81 regular-season home games, the  first time in several years the Dodgers have made tickets for all regular- season home games available for purchase on a single-game basis. In past  seasons, purchase of a multiple-game plan was needed to get tickets for opening  day, some interleague games and promotional events.
      The team will make its largest use of variable pricing this season,  designating games One-Star, Two-Star, Three-Star and Four-Star. Individual game  pricing starts at $8 per ticket for One-Star games, $10 for Two-Star games, $20  for Three-Star games and $30 for Four-Star games.
      The Dodgers began variable pricing in 2010, charging more for games  played on Fridays and Saturdays. They were the last team in the Los Angeles  market to use variable pricing, then-vice president of communications Josh  Rawitch said.
      "Our tiered pricing is becoming the industry standard, not just in L.A.  but in every sport across the country and it's a lot more transparent and  easier to understand," David Siegel, the Dodgers' senior director of ticket  sales, told City News Service.
      "Our goal was to keep Dodger games as accessible as we could and to  remain the most affordable ticket in all of L.A. sports and we believe we  achieved that with our variable pricing."
      Fans are encouraged to purchase single-game tickets at Dodger Stadium,  where the team's first off-season FanFest will be held in Lot 6 from 11 a.m.-5  p.m. Auto Gates A (Sunset Boulevard) and E (Stadium Way) will open at 6:30 a.m.
      Fans will receive wristbands as they enter Lot G to determine purchase  order. Fans must obtain a wristband by 8:30 a.m. for a chance to purchase  tickets for opening day, April 1, against the World Series champion San  Francisco Giants.
      Highlights for the season include 10 interleague games -- May 27-28  against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, July 30-31 against the New York  Yankees, Aug. 9-11 against the Tampa Bay Rays and Aug. 23-25 against the Boston  Red Sox -- 10 bobblehead giveaways and Old-timers' Game (June 8).
      The FanFest will feature star outfielder Matt Kemp, selected teammates  and former Dodgers signing autographs, along with Hall of Famer Tommy Lasorda,  manager Don Mattingly and newly named hitting coach Mark McGwire.
      The FanFest will also include interactive games, a kids' zone, a  memorabilia exhibit, entertainment and other family friendly activities. Food,  beverages and Dodger merchandise will be sold.
      Gates will open at 10:30 a.m. for Dodger season tickets holders with  their MVP cards and 11 a.m. for the general public.
