A 27-year-old Coachella man suspected of exposing himself to girls in two separate incidents in La Quinta was in custody today, authorities said.
An Indio police officer arrested David Gomez Diaz after spotting his vehicle around 2:35 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Desert Stream Drive and Bridgette Way in La Quinta, said Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Steve DaSilva.
Diaz was booked on multiple counts of indecent exposure and held at the Riverside County Jail in Indio in lieu of $14,000 bail, according to sheriff's online jail records.
Authorities believe Diaz is the same person who exposed himself around 2:30 p.m. on April 2 to girls who were walking in the vicinity of Victoria Drive and Diane Street.
On Thursday around 3 p.m., the same man, driving the same red SUV, exposed himself to girls walking near Desert Crest Drive and Desert Fox Drive, DaSilva said.
In both cases, deputies searched for but were unable to find the suspect or the SUV, he said.
Diaz is due in court in Indio on Thursday, according to the sheriff's department.
