An exotic vehicle was destroyed and one was slightly
damaged early today when a second-alarm fire broke out at a 7,000-square-foot
commercial building in Palm Desert, the Riverside County Fire Department
reported.
The fire in the 42100 block of Beacon Hill was reported at 1:13 a.m.,
said department spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson.
The fire was knocked down around 1:40 a.m., she said. Damage was
estimated at $20,000 for the two cars while eight to 10 other exotic cars
valued at around $1 million were saved, she said.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
