A fire damaged a residence and brought down nearby power lines in Desert Hot Springs today, a county fire department spokeswoman said.
The fire was reported shortly before 8 a.m. near 2nd Street and West Drive. No injuries were reported, and the blaze was contained at 8:20 a.m., Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson said.
She didn't know what kind of residence it was, and the cause was under investigation.
The home was unoccupied.
