Desert Hot Springs will hold its annual holiday treelighting at 6 p.m. Friday, at the corner of Palm Drive and Pierson Boulevard.
People can bring unwrapped toys -- no stuffed animals -- to donate to the city's Christmas Store, deputy city clerk Kristie Ramos said.
"This is a wonderful way to start the holiday season. There will be live music, caroling and even an appearance by Santa Claus," said George Fisher, president of the city's Community and Cultural Affairs Commission.
