CBS Local 2 Morning Show Anchor
Tom Tucker is the co-anchor of CBS Local 2's Morning Show. Tom co-anchored CBS Local 2's very first morning newscast on September 2, 2002. After anchoring the morning show for three years, the station promoted him to weekend news anchor.
After 16 years of working in local television news, Tom decided it was time for a change, and left CBS Local 2 in January 2007, to accept a position serving as an independent corporate trainer for Fortune 50 high tech companies, including Hewlett Packard. The work took Tom on trips to cities throughout the United States, and to more than 20 countries in North America, Asia, Europe and Africa.
Once a reporter, always a reporter, Tom could not resist the opportunity to return to local television news, returning to the position of weekend anchor at CBS Local 2 in May 2010.
Tom enjoys covering a wide range of topics, but especially enjoys reporting on politics, business and economics. Highlights include in-depth reporting on pension reform for cities and state governments. In the early days at CBS Local 2, Tom also enjoyed working on a weekly feature called "Your Story", in which he reported unique and interesting stories about valley residents chosen at random from the phone book.
Tom's worked every newsroom position from intern to News Director for ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX affiliates on the west coast.
A graduate of California State University Fullerton, Tom and his wife, Patti, have a daughter named Sophia, a source of great joy, who like her dad, loves to read.
Tom is a big fan of the Green Bay Packers and also likes following the St. Louis Cardinals. It would be accurate to call him a fantasy football nerd, and he enjoys tinkering with social media. He is also active at his church.
