Crisis counselors will be on hand Tuesday at a Moreno Valley elementary school attended by a 5-year-old girl who was struck by a bus and seriously injured.
The bus rolled backward and struck the girl on the sidewalk around 2:25 p.m. Monday as she and other students waited for a ride home outside Box Springs Elementary School, 11900 Athens Drive, California Highway Patrol Sgt. Brian Gonsalves told the Riverside Press-Enterprise. The CHP investigates all school bus accidents in the state.
The girl was taken to a hospital, but her condition was not available early Tuesday morning.
School Principal Sam Stager told the Press-Enterprise the school district would have a crisis team on hand at the school today to assist staff and students.
