Sometimes people experience an aura during a migraine.
A migraine with aura, according to the Mayo Clinic, is a migraine that also includes flashes a light, blind spots or tingling in your hands or face.
If you experience a migraine with aura, the Mayo Clinic advises you to seek medical attention for at least the first time it occurs. Doctors will need to make sure that you’re experiencing a migraine and not something more serious, like a stroke or retinal tear.
The Mayo Clinic says that usually migraines with aura can be treated the same as general migraines. The same medications and self-help treatments can be used.
