School bands marched under the blazing sun Sunday along El Paseo for the 47th Annual Golf Cart Parade.
This year's theme was "Carnival Style." The unseasonably warm weather didn't scare away the crowds. The first parade which held in July.
Lyn Manor participated in the first parade. He said the parade gets better each year.
"The golf cars used to be plain, old golf cars," he said. "But now...they're really going big on these things."
Organizers said a record number of musicians signed up, and there were more golf carts than last year.
New businesses participating for the first time hoped their involvement paid off.
"We didn't know if were going to be operation this summer so we didn't do a lot of marketing and advertising," said Brian Grantham, of water park Desert Wake. "So, this is a great way to get in front of a lot of people in a single event."
Nate Otto, of Hot Energy Purple, added: "The kids are out here. The people are out here. The vibe is out here. It's just a fun way to spend a day. It doesn't feel like work."
It probably didn't feel like work either for comedian Bob Einstein --- better known as "Super Dave Osborne" --- who served as Grand Marshal. The part-time desert resident described the parade as the desert's own Rose Parade.
