PALM SPRINGS, Calif. -

Palm Springs police re-arrested a man on Wednesday morning after he failed to appear in court on child pornography charges.

Joel Simpson, 35, was re-arrested at the Starbucks Coffee, located on South Palm Canyon Drive.

Simpson was initially arrested on June 16 after someone called in a tip to police.

During the investigation, Palm Springs police detectives searched his home on Via Entrada, where they said they found several disturbing videos and pictures of child porn on his computer.

Police say he also had a video showing him performing sex acts with an animal.

A judge issued a bench warrant for Simpson when he didn't show up for his court appearance on Tuesday.

None of the victims in the video or photograph files has been identified.

In addition to the child pornography charges, Simpson was found in possession of drugs at the time of his arrest on Wednesday, police said.

He was also sent to the hospital, where he was treated for an unknown medical issue.
