Five people were hurt late Wednesday afternoon -- one critically -- in a rollover crash on eastbound Interstate 10 east of Coachella, authorities said.

The crash was reported at 4:23 p.m. on eastbound Interstate 10 at Frontage Road, a California Highway Patrol dispatcher said.

One patient was airlifted to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries, said Jody Hagemann of the Riverside County Fire Department. The other four were transported by ground ambulance for treatment of minor to moderate injuries, Hagemann said.
