KESQ News Channel 3 & CBS Local 2 Reporter
Natalie Brunell joined News Channel 3 in September 2013. She is a general assignment reporter who reports, shoots, writes and edits her own stories.
Prior to arriving at KESQ, Natalie served as the 2012 Master's News Fellow at the Los Angeles bureau of CNN and freelanced as a video journalist for Reuters TV. Natalie earned her Master's degree in Broadcasting from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University in June 2012.
Natalie has been keen on combining her passions for news, on-air reporting and traveling for as long as she can remember. In 2005 she left her home town of Palatine, Illinois and moved to Southern California to attend Pepperdine University, setting her sights on the TV industry. By the end of college she was hosting and producing Strong Currents, a women's talk show similar to The View, and reporting for the university's station, TV-26, as a news correspondent and one-man-band producer. She also spent four semesters living in Florence, Italy, which included a stint as a bilingual reporter for an Italian television station.
Her work can be seen on CNN, Reuters, USA Today, McClatchy, UPI, Northwest Indiana Times, Military Times and Chicago Parent.
When she's not reporting, Natalie enjoys traveling, dancing, hiking and taking in a good movie.
Natalie looks forward to getting to know you, so say hello if you see her around town! She wants to report about the things that matter to you, so send your story ideas to her firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also follow her on Facebook and Twitter.
