Updated:

Authorities with the Imperial County Coroner's Office tell NewsChannel 3 that the Border Patrol who died near Salton Sea April 11 died of an accidental drowning.

The body of Agent Richard Goldstein, 37, was found floating in the Coachella Canal in Niland.

Coroners also say no foul play was indicated in Goldstein's death.

Officials say it's unknown what the agent was doing in the area when he drowned.

Meantime, a memorial service will be held for Goldstein on Thursday at 9:30 AM at the Southwest Community Church on Fred Waring Drive.
