A new medical marijuana dispensary in the Coachella Valley is opening shop in the same location of another dispensary that shut down in January.

The Palm Springs Safe Access Collectives has taken over the space C.A.P.S. used to be off Palm Canyon Drive.

The store front remains unchanged. It still has tinted windows and doors, and a warning sign if customers are caught giving away or re selling the products, they will be reported to the police. Workers there say they've been open for about a week.

C.A.P.S. closed earlier this year following raids by federal and county agents at a number of dispensaries around the Southland. The federal government still regards medical marijuana illegal, even though California passed a law making it legal in the Golden State.
