The biggest bee season in years has swarmed down on the Coachella Valley and some killer bee removal experts are so busy, they're running several weeks behind. We found out why bee activity is out of control this year.
Killer bee expert Lance Davis is as busy as a bee so far this season.
Today was no exception, spending a couple hours outside the Indian Wells Tennis Garden, removing a hive with several thousand African bees.
"This is the best year for bees, as far as they go. They're everywhere."
If you're wondering why, it's simple. Like everything else this year, blame the winter rain.
The bloom is out of control and all of those flowers and plants need to be pollinated.
"It's like walking into a candy store."
So bees have their work cut out for them and so do these guys trying to remove the bees.
"We're doing 17 swarms a day, just in trees and I'm backed up three weeks."
But Davis says don't try to get rid of the hive yourself.
"There have been a few fierce attacks. I was just on a job yesterday where that almost happened."
While there have been only a dozen or so reports of bees actually killing people, it's best to leave the job to the experts.
