MORONGO VALLEY - The California Highway Patrol says an accident on Highway 62 in Morongo Valley was probably caused by a car not having its headlights on.

The collision happened Tuesday evening at the intersection of Oregon Trail and State Highway 62.

Troopers say 82 year-old Robert Schrader was heading westbound on Highway 62 and stopped along the roadway, when another car collided with his.  Schrader was not wearing a seat belt, and was thrown from his car. He was flown to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs where he later died.

Schrader was from Manhattan Beach.
