SAN DIEGO - Small earthquakes struck both ends of California on Tuesday but no damage or injuries are reported.
The U.S. Geological Survey says a magnitude-3.9 undersea quake struck at 6:34 a.m. west of San Diego. It was centered 23 miles southeast of Navy-owned San Clemente Island.
A magnitude-3.4 tremor followed at 12:12 p.m. Earlier, a magnitude-3.7 earthquake struck about 75 miles west of Sacramento. The 3:59 a.m. quake was centered near Cobb, about two miles northeast of The Geysers, an area of geothermal energy production using steam heated by magma.
