BERMUDA DUNES/CATHEDRAL CITY - Two separate armed robberies last night in the Coachella Valley.

The first in Cathedral City where police say two suspects followed a couple from the Jack in the Box near Ramon and Gene Autry to Whispering Palms near Baristo and robbed them at gunpoint around 7:45pm.

Police say the man that was robbed was pistol whipped several times.

The suspects are described as a black man about 170 pounds and a Hispanic man about 5 foot six with long spiked hair. They were last seen driving an older silver and blue Ford Bronco.

Then around 9:30 last night, there was an armed robbery in Bermuda Dunes at Washington and Country Club.

The victims told the deputies they were inside their apartment when the female's ex-boyfriend, Edgar Brito, 27 years of age of Desert Hot Springs, entered the apartment via an open rear sliding glass door. Brito then proceeded to physically assault the male victim in the apartment. Brito left the apartment after assaulting the male victim and removing personal property from him. The male victim sustained minor injuries as a result of the altercation. The female victim was not harmed.

Anyone with information regarding this incident or Brito's whereabouts is encouraged to contact Investigator Juan Zamora at 760-863-8990.

Police are still looking for the suspects in both cases.
