Hazardous Waste Collection to Riverside County Residents in Pinyon Pines

PINYON PINES - Riverside County residents can drop off up to 50 pounds of household hazardous waste at a collection point in Pinyon Pines today.

The county operation will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Pinon Flats Transfer Station, which is at the south end of Pinon Flats Road, said Diane Christensen, administrator of the county's Waste Management Program.

Used motor oil, old paint, antifreeze, batteries, pesticides, cleaning products, fluorescent lamps, computers, VCRs and telephones are among the types of waste accepted.

Each person is allowed to drop of five gallons of waste or 50 pounds, Christensen said.
