PALM SPRINGS - After a deadly accident on Highway 74, a teen remains in stable condition at Desert Regional Medical center. Joseph Nicol's mother, Teri Edelmon is asking for your help to find the person who helped her son moments after the crash. Edelman says, "there were nine cars that passed them by, this good samaritan came to there rescue." She's hoping the good samaritan will contact them. Edelman says, "I'd like to personally meet them, thank them for helping my son, I just want to give them a big hug.
Joseph was a passenger inside the car headed eastbound on the deadly State Route 74 Sunday night just before 8p.m. California highway patrol officers say the 18 year-old Lydia Emer was driving too fast and couldn't handle the curve. Lisel Widemann, 17, of Palm Desert a passenger in the car was killed. The two other passengers, Joseph and the driver are expected to recover.
Edelman describes Joseph as being kind and full of joy. Edelmon says, "he's about as close to perfect as a boy can be, thoughtful and kind hearted. Edelman is thankful her oldest son is alive. She needs your help to find the person who stopped to help Joseph and the four other teens on highway 74 at 7:40 p.m Sunday night when no one else would.
