RANCHO MIRAGE - A family friend of Rancho Mirage Mayor Pro Tem, Alan Seman, confirmed Wednesday Seman is battling stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

Seman is being treated at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage.

Seman has served on the Rancho Mirage City Council since 1989. He was elected to Mayor in April 1992 and served in that position until October 1993.

Alan Seman is a native of New York and moved to Rancho Mirage with his wife, Jeanette, to retire.

The extent of Seman's condition is not known at this time.
