DESERT HOT SPRINGS - A gunman robbed a grocery store in Desert Hot Springs this afternoon.
Police were notified at 1:52 p.m. of the holdup at the Save-A-Lot at 66550 Pierson Blvd., said Sgt. Dan Bressler of the Desert Hot Springs Police Department.
An employee told police that the suspect came into the store armed with a handgun, demanded cash and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of loot.
The suspect was described as being a Latino man in his late 20s or early 30s, around 5 feet 10 inches tall with hazel eyes. He was wearing a gray beanie, dark pants and a gray tank top.
