MORONGO VALLEY - A crash west of the Coachella Valley leaves a young girl dead. It happened Friday just after 7:00 p.m. in Morongo Balley.
Deputies say a sedan was struck by an SUV on eastbound State Route 62, near Big Morongo Canyon Road.
Alyssa Hendricks, 6, of Morongo Valley was taken to Riverside County Regional Medical Center in Moreno Valley where she died a short time later.
Police say she was restrained at the time of the crash.
No word on any other injuries or what caused the collision.
