THOUSAND PALMS - A valley elementary school was without water Wednesday morning after a car crashed into equipment that supplies the school's water.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a driver crashed into three water pumps in the area of Robert Road north of Ramon Road in Thousand Palms late Tuesday night.

The pumps supply water to Della Lindley Elementary School. The school was without water when it opened Wednesday. But according to PSUSD spokeswoman Joan Boiko, the district had no plans on closing the school.

One pump has already been repaired with the two others expected to be repaired later today.

Meanwhile, the CHP located the vehicle and driver involved in the crash. No arrests have been made and the crash is under investigation.
