The Coachella Valley Coalition (CVC) announced the Turtle Club is joining the effort to put a stop to the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) 'Green Path North transmission line project'. The project would construct power lines through residential and wildlife areas in Desert Hot Springs.

CVC leaders say the if the project is constructed in the Coachella Valley it will only be the first of several changes in the desert.

"If we allow Green Path North, next would be gas lines or water lines going through our communities and desert."

The proposed power line path starts in North Palm Springs at a new sub-station LADWP plans to build. It travels north east of Highway 62 through Desert Hot Springs then crosses Indian Avenue.
